Since The Civil Wars’ public breakup in 2014 after winning four Grammy awards, vocalist Joy Williams has gone back to her roots as a singer-songwriter. But the transition hasn’t been an easy one, she told The Huffington Post.

Williams, who recently released an acoustic version of her 2015 album, “Venus,” explained to host Lauren Moraski why the musical breakup between her and bandmate John Paul White was particularly “difficult.”

“It’s very difficult when something abruptly stops and you can get bitter about it, or you can just accept that that’s the way the world is,” Williams said. “We all grow. We all shift. We all change and there’s room for everybody. There’s room for everybody, so best of luck.” READ MORE
